    The 1554 Omaha Flex2® is a great choice for a trail saddle and a favorite among trail riders. It’s uses our most popular Flex2® trail tree which has a 4″ cantle and 13″ wide swell to provide a moderate seat, the standard in all-day comfort. The 3-way in-skirt rigging lets you choose which rigging position best suits your horse. Impact Foam™ in seat keeps you comfortable all day in the saddle. Available in regular or wide tree width. The coordinating saddle pad cut in the round skirt shape with matching wear leathers completes a pulled together look for your horse. Hand tooled shell border with silver slotted conchos and stainless steel hardware. Available with full skirt as 1651 Topeka.

    Flex2® saddles are designed to include comfort features for both the horse and rider that work in synergy with the Flex2® tree. Only Circle Y has the exclusive Flex2® tree design which uses a rigid ground seat for rider support, a high density bar which disperses rider weight, and low density bar which is against the horse and provides give for freedom of movement. This results in a lightweight saddle that will never get wider over time, flex in half, or overflex to create pressure points if properly fitted.     Flex2 Trail Regular, Wide, and Extra Wide

    The Extra Wide tree is meant for a draft type or extra wide foundation style horse. Our Regular tree is considered Semi-QH and the Wide is Full-QH.

     

    When we measure our Gullets it is on a bare tree.
    Regular/Semi QH - 6.5"
    Wide/Full QH -7.0"
    Extra Wide - 7.5"         Thanks for reaching out! We have been building and fitting saddles for almost 60 years now, and have found that gullet measurements are not reliable for fitting saddles. There are many different ways and places that people measure the gullet width, and there is no way to make sure that a measurement is accurate. Additionally, it is not the defining factor of saddle fit. Most importantly, not every saddle with a specified gullet measurement will fit the same. The angle and twist of the bars affect how the saddle will fit.

    The typical bar lengths for Circle Y saddles are as follows:
    12” – 18” long
    13”- 19” long
    14”- 20” long
    15” – 22” long
    16” – 23” long
    17” – 24” long
    18” – 25” long

    Medium and wide trees have a 90-degree angle, we make the gullet wider on the wide, but angle is unchanged. For extra wide, the gullet gets wider and the angle gets flatter, going to 100+ degrees. Gaited fits are 80-85 degrees     I hope this information will help
